Visvim Commodore Coat

As we approach (or have we already?) the tail end of summer and as the cooler weather prevails, the folks over at Visvim have produced their rendition of the Commodore Coat, a piece which derives from the WWII era and its Royal Navy Officers of yesteryear.  In continuation of Visvim’s rich quality and craftsmanship of details, this is another reason why the fall season should go hand in hand with your garments.  Source / Link

Clarks Wallabee Lo Sand Suede

I’m not the biggest fan of suede shoes to be honest, but there is something to be said about these Clarks Wallabee Lo Sand Suede shoes.  I can’t pinpoint exactly what is the game breaker, but one look at these and you can’t help but be convinced that this particular Clarks product will help, if put together right, round out one man’s outfit.  Do yourself a favour and consider this fine product as it is midway into summer, and there is no point of selling yourself short.  Source / Link

In Rotation by Lesean Thomas

In Rotation by Lesean Thomas

In Rotation is a weekly music series where we invite our creative colleagues to share what they’re currently nodding their respective heads to.

Music selection and words by:Lesean Thomas

All artists featured in this week’s In Rotation are individuals in their own right. Going against what is expected of them and going with what moves and inspires them, each artist has a distinctive sound that stands out in their respective genres of music. From Blu’s laid back west coast boom-bap, to Jay Electronica’s unexpected arrangements and delivery, to CEU’s quiet and hypnotic rhythms.

Muji Document Bag

Muji Document Bag

In any financial times, good or bad, one must always appreciate a good quality, simple and affordable pick up.  Japanese retailer, Muji, never fails to impress me with their assortment of office and home supplies at a great price point.  In continuing with their tradition of modern products at a past time rate, they have released a water resistant document bag ($45 US) for those on the go - rain or shine.  Source / Link

Over the Pond (Video)

We lost a legend this week in the sports & business world in Mr. George Steinbrenner, but his legacy will definitely live on with the empire he built in New York. Another potential legendary company may have missed a step in Apple as they had a press conference this morning to talk about the “death grip” issue with the newly released iPhone4. Ever wonder how the concept behind the Old Spice campaign came about, you don’t have to anymore, someone should do an interview with Geico as well.  In other news, the World Cup and the vuvuzelas finally came to a close, the NY Times caught up with the #1 playboy, the Espys highlighted the King and Tiger, and Uniqlo expands.

In all, another busy week with unexpected, disappointing, and unique happenings. Some for the greater good and some unexplainable, point being, we made it through another week and we should all toast to that.
