Flying Lotus - “Camera Day”

Flying Lotus

Flying Lotus has undoubtedly been a working machine this year.  Even though Cosmogramma has been the top electronic album of 2010 so far, FlyLo wasn’t satisfied.  So as a result, he went back to the studio to record another album.  Camera Day is his first single off his upcoming EP titled Pattern + Grid World, which will be released Sepember 20 via Warp Records and will feature cover art by comic illustrator, Theo Ellsworth.  Listen to it here.

J. Cole - “Blow Up”

While the current job market is less than inspiring these days, the value of chasing dreams for many has steadily decreased.  J. Cole, however, has not let those obstacles affect his drive to make it to the top.  His new track, Blowup, reflects on his past, present, and what he hopes for his future.  Jermaine’s debut album is scheduled to be released in late October. Future Vintage Podcast

Future Vintage Podcast

Doing some Internet digging (yes that’s what I’ve labeled it), I came across this blog a while back called Future Vintage, which among other things provides some quality podcasts. Not just what’s playing on the radio, matter of fact, they play nothing that you would hear on the radio, but everything you’d rather hear on the radio. If you don’t believe me, check them out for yourselves. Here’s their latest which features, everyone from James Pants, Dwele, Gonjasufi, to the Beach Boys, yes, I said the Beach Boys. Partake. Universal Music Group cuts prices

Universal Music Group cuts prices

In an effort to make CDs relevant again and compete with the likes of iTunes, and other musically shared sites (cough!). Universal Music Group has decided to slice their prices in half. Instead of paying $12- or $14.99 for a CD you will now only pay $6 bucks! It sounds good, but in a day and age where even artists (see Radiohead) have accepted the fact that music for the most part isn’t consumed via your favorite mom & pop shop anymore, will it really matter?
